Saying it is one thing, making it happen is another… such a project involves so many parameters and even more in 2021…
Our company Biom Paris is based on strong values. We seek every day to be useful by offering objects in tune with our times. Humanity faces great challenges to the health of our planet and we are working to provide solutions to some of these challenges. This is part of our DNA. The new object that we are going to create must therefore be consistent with our values and our missions.
“An object that makes sense”
What is a sensible object today? An effective object? yes , an innovative object ? why not , an aesthetic object? It would be a plus … For us, a sensible object is above all a durable, functional object, made in France with recycled materials that could replace other outdated and obsolete products. In her last post, Sandra asked some good questions: “ What if we started to change the way we look at the products around us? How were they designed? Where are they made? Are they functional, efficient, stylish, durable?”
“Okay, but what product?”
Some of you have already guessed on social networks. Our next product will be… a multifunctional clothes peg! As well adapted to your socks as to your sheets… well that's for the joke (although even the clothespins should be re-imagined and maybe we will come to that one day!). Quite joking... our next product will be the first eco-designed cup made in France!
“Why a cup?”
We have poisoned the earth and the oceans with disposable cups... Today there are other solutions than disposable... but that's not enough... where are these cups made? by who ? with what ? are they durable? With our cup, we will be able to answer these questions very easily. We don't pretend to be perfect but we believe that we can't just be satisfied with “doing better than disposable”. We want an object with maximum lifespan and minimum environmental impact from design to end of life.

Biom Paris reinvents the objects of our daily life. The toilet brush, the cup, … We think that they are the ones that must be redesigned first since they are objects that we use every day!
And when is it?
There are many steps in the process of creating a hard product. We first had the first ideas. Then we decided to é(co)-build this cup with you. That's why we studied your expectations and your ideas through a questionnaire on social networks. Your answers were invaluable to us and helped us to have an even more precise vision of the cup we want to develop. “e(co)-creating” also means exchanging with our industrial partner Louis Besse (Oise) who is starting to send us the first models of the product. With them, there will be several round trips that will improve the final product. We are also going to call on a talented designer who had already participated in the creation of bbb La Brosse. This part is very important, because once the model has been validated, we will enter the mold creation phase and there will be no going back. Finally, é(co)-créer is to make you participate in the financing of this project via crowdfunding organized by our partner Lucie from crowdfunding factory. More information here .
Here are some steps in the creation of our object, even if there are many others! We hope to be able to offer our cup for sale in September 2021.

This period is both exciting and important in the life of our company Biom Paris. We work daily to move forward and grow even more. But it is also only a step and our ambition is to create a whole collection of more sustainable, more responsible and made in France objects!
