In 2017, the brush broom was created bbb BIOM Paris . The brand's first object, marking the beginning of an adventure that fell within the framework of sustainable development. Sandra Legel immediately wanted to make this sustainable development concrete, by applying the eco-design method. Design, inspired by what nature does best, the selected materials are recycled and biosourced. All, of course, made in France.
Since this year, the brand has been developing thanks to this first product which has conquered the bathrooms and toilets of many French people. The somewhat offbeat idea of having reinvented a tool to clean one's toilet arouses curiosity and interest, so the press is quick to get the word out about the bbb.
Therefore, the canvas BIOM Paris has spread, other French entrepreneurs sharing the same DNA are caught up in this web and come to collaborate with us. From an exchange of good practices, BIOM Paris comes to market with its BBB many other products intended for the bathroom. Soap, toilet seats, toilet paper, towels and now soap cases, the range is expanding to offer French people local and environmentally responsible products.
This first era is now taking a turn, with the creation of a brand new product.
The idea, first in the corner of the head, comes out little by little. A benchmark and a whole bunch of phone calls made later, the project is in black on white. “We are going to make a cup”.
Ok, a cup. As you can imagine, there are already tons of them, most of which end up in trash cans, especially because they are single-use. The first point that therefore emerged was that of sustainability. This cup must be eco-responsible and last over time, the types of use must be multiplied and it must become a reference by its name. Hey besides, his name, he needed something short, effective, which is super easy to memorize.
The Bog is what has been retained to be in turn retained in the minds of consumers.
The Bog therefore had to be an innovative reference because of its characteristics. For this, we called on the Eco-Design Pole, with the aim of carrying out a simplified Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of this future product. We didn't even know what he was going to look like again. This LCA was therefore the first and essential design step.
This tool proposes to analyze each stage of a product's life and to improve each of them. What materials, for what use, estimated lifespan, where is the place of production, how will it be distributed... So many questions that lead to choices, confront constraints, reveal a lot of things.
At the same time, the first lines of the Bog were taking shape, giving us the impression that the project was actually coming to life. From a first version, came a second, then a third and last one on which we stopped and said to ourselves “that will be Le Bog”. A few prototypes have been made using a 3D printer, allowing us to hold in our hands the beginnings of an evolution of such a simple and yet greatly improvable object.
The LCA done, the final design completed, Le Bog will therefore be an eco-designed cup, equipped with a lid and a QR-code offering daily eco-tips. Intended for all uses and generations, you can make it a flower pot, drink all your drinks in it and take it away, or even make it a pencil pot for your superb office. You do what you want!
A pre-sale campaign was launched on Ulule in June. 48 hours later, 100% achieved, first victory! At the time of writing this article, 382 Bogs have been pre-sold, representing 26,740 disposable cups saved. Everything still remains to be done, now, it has to work like hell, it has to explode, we see Le Bog everywhere like we see Starbucks on every street corner in the United States!
We therefore hope that Le Bog will settle in the hearts of the French, or rather in their daily lives, from the bathroom to waking up, to the kitchen, then to the backpack before arriving at the office, and finally returning to its starting point! In any case, we are already conquered and we believe in it!
Thank you for your support.
